Kevin Leigh helped Christmas Wonderland in Clacton, Essex, stave off an attempt by Tendring District Council to injunct the Christmas attraction from operating over the holiday period. Acting on a public access basis, Kevin was instructed directly after the council notified the operator that an urgent injunction would be sought in the High Court the next day.

Working overnight and the next morning and with the client’s help, Kevin was able to persuade Mr Justice William Davies that the balance favoured the continued operating of the business notwithstanding that planning permission had not been granted by the council who had also served a temporary stop notice: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-42355997

There was a huge amount of support on social media. Now and thanks to Kevin’s efforts, Santa, his reindeer and the elves along with around 120 staff, Winter Wonderland can continue to entertain and be enjoyed by everyone. The client was delighted with being able to work directly with counsel so as to keep costs down and still obtain specialist advice and representation so quickly.
