Kempley, Delia – Hot 100

Nabarro Nathanson does not shout about its property practice very much, despite having picked up a few stellar clients over the last 12 months thanks to real estate partner Delia Kempley.

Since joining the firm in December 2003 from rival Berwin Leighton Paisner, Kempley, who has a particular expertise in large-scale development work, has managed to tempt a number of new clients into picking Nabarros.

Most notably, Nabarros dealt a blow to Addleshaw Goddard and DLA in February when the firm, led by Kempley, convinced waterways regeneration body Isis to abolish its panel and appoint Nabarros as its sole legal adviser.

Kempley has also helped Nabarros reaffirm its flagging relationship with Land Securities.

The firm had been suffering as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer strengthened its ties with Land Securities. However, Kempley has worked hard to redress some of the balance, advising the property developer on a range of deals, including its £80m acquisition of Hill House, part of Deloitte & Touche’s UK headquarters.
