A team from Linklaters led by partner David Swinburne is joining Jones Day’s private equity practice in Paris.

Swinburne has been a partner at the magic circle firm since 2007, joining the firm in 2004 as an associate in Paris. He started out his career at Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s French office.

Two associates are joining Swinburne in his move to Jones Day – Sylvain Kabeya and Kévin Bousset.

Swinburne’s recent transactions include advising cloud-computing company OVH Groupe on its acquisition of the US and EU business of VMware.

He also acted for Macquarie on the sale of stakes in oil storage company Pisto, and represented Alcentra and Barings on the restructuring of clothing company Vivarte.

Jones Day has been boosting numbers in its Paris office, taking on an entire real estate team from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer earlier this year.

In February, Freshfields lost its entire Paris real estate capability when real estate head Erwan Le Douce-Bercot left for the US firm along with a three-lawyer team.

Linklaters‘ Paris practice consists of over 30 partners. Earlier this year, the office also lost Paris duo Kiril Bougartchev and counsel Emmanuel Moyne when they left to set up a business crime boutique.
