We have fantastic and growing digital engagement with over half our subscribers visiting TheLawyer.com on a daily or weekly basis. In addition to TheLawyer.com, we have developed a set of data-rich insight tools, including our Litigation Tracker and Signal, our new subscription service for in-depth market reports. This year, paid content will represent about 50% of total The Lawyer revenues. The Lawyer is part of Centaur plc.

How You’ll Help Us Grow…

The person in this role will be directly responsible for maintaining the integrity and content quality of TheLawyer.com (TL.com) whilst also taking responsibility for creating and delivering content campaigns and managing the successful SEO of our site.

A Day In The Life Of…

  1. Web content
    1. Maintaining the overall integrity of TL.com by constantly checking site content and advising the editorial team on best practice
    2. Providing creative design and input into site structure
    3. Implementing structural changes to the site, such as changes to navigation to accommodate new content campaigns
    4. Adding content to the site for new content campaigns
    5. Managing the updating of ‘ever green’ content and archiving out of date content
    6. Working with the marketing team on campaign activity and future initiatives to enhance the overall look, feel and performance of TL.com and its associated sites.
  2. Search engine optimisation (SEO)
    1. Audit and analysis of TL.com to create a snapshot/benchmark of current positioning
    2. Work with the data team to discuss site analytics to identify opportunities for improvement
    3. Develop and maintain the keyword strategy for TL.com
    4. Understand and have input into the social strategy for The Lawyer
    5. Be involved in new developments and changes to offer SEO and social insight and recommendations from concept through to delivery
    6. Be the go-to person for SEO advice, Social insight, support and queries working to an agreed SLA
  3. Usage analytics & reporting
    1. Manage the weekly reporting of site usage across TL.com and associated services
    2. Provide an insightful commentary on usage statistics, highlighting potential issues

What We Need You To Have…

  • High literacy skills with strong grasp of grammar, style and brand voice; attention to detail
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience of publishing and managing site structure on content management systems, with an emphasis on WordPress
  • Understanding of SEO best practices
  • Experience of content analytics for planning new content and making on-page improvements
  • Highly efficient and able to take ownership of content projects; comfortable juggling different projects at the same time
  • Comfortable working as part of a team and on your own initiative
  • Able to manage multiple content formats including written word, video and audio

What We would like You To Have…

  • Experience running social media accounts, preferably for a newsroom.
  • An imaginative approach to content generation and delivery across different media.
  • A degree of competency with Photoshop and In-Design
  • An understanding of marketing email systems such as ExactTarget
  • Newsletter production experience.
  • Knowledge of analytics software.
