The head of internet giant Yahoo! Sarl’s legal operations Grainne Brankin is leaving the company to join CBS Outdoor International (CBSOI).
Brankin joins CBSOI, the outdoor advertising division of media conglomerate the CBS Corporation, as international legal director in May.
Brankin played a leading role in Yahoo!’s relocation from London to Vaud, Switzerland, in 2008, when Yahoo! Europe became Yahoo! Sarl. She was also general counsel for Switzerland and had responsibility for corporate, employment, tax and property legal support across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
At CBS Outdoor Brankin will report to CBSOI chief executive Antonio Alonso, and will oversee the legal team based in the UK, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and Ireland.
She will have responsibility for commercial contracts, dispute resolution, compliance and government regulations, employment, acquisitions, joint ventures, competition and EU law, intellectual property, tax and real estate.
Alonso said: “Grainne has a wealth of experience behind her and has a substantial track record as an international legal team leader.
“She’ll be an immense asset to the CBSOI legal division as the legal function is a fundamental pillar of all out-of-home advertising activity. We look forward to welcoming her onboard in May.”
