Winston hires four-partner team from Nixon Peabody in New York

Nixon Peabody private equity head Dominick DeChiara has moved to Winston’s New York office to become co-chair of the firm’s private equity practice. Partners Bradley Vaiana, Bryan Goldstein and Jennifer Kurtis have also joined the firm as well as a team of four associates.

Winston New York managing partner Michael Elkin said: “They bring a remarkable range of experience in the private equity market that complements Winston’s pre-eminent private equity and corporate practices.”

Winston has been on an aggressive recruitment drive in recent years. In November last year The Lawyer reported that the Chicago-based firm hired nine partners and 10 associates from collapsed firm Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner (20 November 2008)

That said, in the UK the firm has suffered some departures in recent months. In August Addleshaw Goddard hired litigation duo Kent Phillips and Jamie Harrison, leaving the US firm with just three partners based in London (19 August 2009).
