Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has promoted nine lawyers to its partnership, its highest number of partnership promotions in four years.
The international firm has added the lawyers, four of whom are based in the UK, to its partnership across five of its 13 offices.
The number exceeds the six partners made up in 2011, two in 2010 and five in 2009 and brings the total number of partners at the firm to 126.
Managing partner Michael Greville said: “Our 2012 promotions reflect the
international nature of our business and the strength and diversity of our practice which is a feature of the continuing growth of the firm and allows the promotion of talented individuals to the partnership.”
In London, Daisy East (project, export and commodity finance), Asha Kumar (employment), Toby Royal (asset finance), and Richard Stephens (tax) were promoted.
In Singapore, Ivan Chia (corporate) and Dan Thompson (litigation), joined the partnership, with John Kissane (litigation) promoted in New York, Sven Fretthold (project and structured finance) in Hamburg and Chris Osbourne (corporate) in Bangkok.
Last year (11 October 2011) WFW announced a joint venture in Singapore as it linked up with Asia Practice. More than 30 staff and 15 partners established a profit-sharing scheme under the banner Watson Farley & Williams Asia Practice.
