Walkers names new Hong Kong boss as funds chief joins Asian office

Offshore firm Walkers has appointed a new managing partner for its Hong Kong office while boosting its presence in the region with the relocation of its global funds head.

Andy Randall, who has worked in Walkers’ Hong Kong office since 2004, will take over from Guy Locke as managing partner of the office.

Locke is returning to the Cayman Islands to become the office managing partner there, freeing up global managing partner Diarmad Murray to focus on the international role. Murray has to date held both jobs.

Meanwhile, global investment funds head Rod Palmer is relocating to Hong Kong to strengthen the office. He will retain his practice group leadership role.

Randall said Walkers had an “outstanding” 2011 in Hong Kong and the Asian region. The year has seen a number of offshore firms, including Ogier, Collas Crill and Mourant Ozannes, open offices in Asia in response to a growing demand for offshore structures from investors based in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
