Vinson & Elkins has boosted its international M&A and energy practices with the hire of three partners, who join from O’Melveny & Myers and Dewey & LeBoeuf.
Former Dewey partner Keith Hughes, who has joined Vinson’s London office, has more than 30 years of corporate transactional experience, primarily concentrated on the energy industry.
Hughes is the third partner to join Vinson’s London office in 2011. In New York the firm has hired Todd Triller and Maritza Okata, both formerly partners at O’Melveny.
Vinson’s managing partner Joe Dilg said the admission of the three partners was part of the firm’s strategy to continue to expand its global energy practice.
“Keith, Todd and Maritza are all superb lawyers who inspire confidence and trust from their clients,” said Dilg. “Their joining our firm will further enhance our ability to provide excellent service to our clients around the world.”
Vinson’s London office managing partner Alex Msimang described Hughes as “one of the most knowledgeable energy lawyers in London”.
“Bringing him on board is consistent with our aim of ensuring we have the number one energy practice wherever we operate,” Msimang added.
