Bristol firm Veale Wasbrough has taken its first steps into the London market by seeking a tie-up with 17-partner City firm Vizards Tweedie.
The two firms are in merger talks which, if successful, would create a firm with a combined turnover of £22m.
Vizards’ largest practice areas are property, commercial, family and private client.
Veale Wasbrough managing partner Simon Heald said the two firms had been in discussions for several months and pointed to synergies in charities, private client, real estate and public sector.
He described the move as “a great step forward”.
Veale Wasbrough rents office space in London but does not have any partners stationed there.
The combined firm would have 330 members of staff, 46 partners and offices in Bristol and Fetter Lane in London.
