Corporate partners Rob Day and Perry Yam are the two remaining contenders in the contest to replace Ralph Cohen after the first round closed last Friday (15 October).

The second round closes this Friday (22 October) with the result of the vote due to be announced either on the day or the following Monday.

Cohen, who was re-appointed for a second term as managing partner last year, announced in the summer that he had decided to stand down 18 months ahead of the end of his tenure (10 August 2010).

The new managing partner will oversee negotiations with US firm Proskauer Rose over a proposed merger. Talks have been ongoing since May after initial discussions with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe broke down (6 May 2010).
