Will Gunston, who was a partner in Dickinson Dees’ Newcastle office and headed the firm’s bank and creditor-led restructuring practice, will join SNR Denton in London.

Gunston specialises in corporate and debt restructurings, and insolvencies. He advises banks and other financial institutions, management and investors of financially distressed businesses and insolvency practitioners.

In a statement, SNR Denton UK managing partner Brandon Ransley said: “This is a key hire for the firm to further strengthen the team to meet growing client and market demands.

“We know Will’s expertise and experience will complement the team and enhance existing and developing client relationships. Alongside his appointment, we continue to search the market for the best lawyers to join the firm across several areas including banking, energy, insurance and TMT.”

Before joining Dickinson Dees in 2008, Gunston was a senior associate at Osborne Clarke’s City office.

In August, SNR Denton hired Linklaters counsel Mark Cheney into its energy, transport and infrastructure partnership.

Last week, SNR Denton lost a planning senior associate to Watson Farley & Williams (6 October 2011).
