Six firms clinch places on North East NHS joint panel

Six firms have won places on an NHS joint procurement initiative for the North east of England.

Beachcroft, Dickinson Dees, Eversheds, Hempsons, Muckle and Ward Hadaway have been appointed for two years to advise a group of 11 trusts through the NHS Procurement North East (Prone) scheme.

Firms will provide advice across areas including NHS governance and public law, primary care services, healthcare, mental health, employment, contract and commercial and property law as well as corporate finance and PFI/PPP projects.

Stephanie Newburn, project manager for Prone commented: “All appointed suppliers have passed the strict stakeholders selection criteria with high marks and we look forward to working closely with them for the next 2 years.”

Eversheds relationship partner and commercial disputes partner Bill Gilliam said: “We’ve worked with the majority of the trusts before. Our appointment doesn’t mean we’ll automatically get work but it’s more likely than those that aren’t on the panel.”

NHS Prone works with trusts in the North East Strategic Health Authority, contracting for goods and services on behalf of the NHS.
