Simmons hires partner for depleted Paris office

Simmons & Simmons has begun to rebuild its depleted Paris office with the hire of Landwell & Associés partner Michèle Anahory.

Anahory’s arrival at Simmons follows a number of partner losses from the firm’s French office. This week it was announced that Africa group head Christophe Asselineau is joining Shearman & Sterling, employment partner Laure Joncour is leaving for Norton Rose and corporate finance partner Arnauld Achard moved to Fasken Martineau (4 April 2011).

Anahory, who has brought an associate with her, specialises in advising the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, with a particular focus on public and private healthcare companies.

Her hire follows the January appointment of medical consultant Alain Rimailho, who previously practised as a cardiologist.

Simmons’ Paris managing partner Thierry Gontard said Anahory’s hire was part of the firm’s focus on areas where it considers it had existing strength. Gontard added that Simmons also planned to grow its employment and regulatory teams.
