Simmons & Simmons has hired a three-partner team from Dewey & LeBoeuf in Frankfurt.
Volker Holl, Bernulph von Crailsheim and Jochen Terpitz were all partners at Dewey and will join Simmons in the same role. The team will join Simmons’ Frankfurt office on 15 May along with four associates.
Holl is a corporate lawyer focusing on M&A and corporate finance, in particular in relation to real estate. Von Crailsheim, meanwhile, is a tax specialist and Terpitz is a projects lawyer, focusing on renewables and energy regulatory matters.
In a statement, the firm’s Germany head Hans-Hermann Aldenhoff said: “This outstanding team of lawyers will make an excellent addition to our offering in Frankfurt, and come as part of our plans to significantly expand our offering in Germany.
“The team will ensure we’re even better placed to service our clients in the financial institutions, asset management, and energy and infrastructure sectors.”
Simmons managing partner Jeremy Hoyland added: ”We have ambitious plans for growth and are focusing on the opportunities created by the rapidly changing business market.”
Over the weekend it emerged that Dewey bankruptcy rainmaker – and member of the office of the chairman – Martin Bienenstock had jumped ship to Proskauer Rose along with five partners (14 May 2012).
