The hires cover projects, real estate finance, construction and banking.

Howard Kennedy construction partner Edward Butler joins the firm as a consultant, as does former McDermott Will & Emery partner Steven Black, who transfers to the Bristol-headquarter firm’s banking group from Bank of New York Mellon’s in-house team.

The firm has also scooped two senior associates, who join as partners, in the form of projects lawyer James Watson from Pinsent Masons and real estate finance lawyer Madeleine Clark from Berwin Leighton Paisner.

Osborne Clarke managing partner Simon Beswick said: “These four hires further demonstrate our commitment to developing the firm’s capability within key industry sectors, in this case real estate and infrastructure and financial services.”

He added that the hires “represent the next wave of a number of partner hires at OC over the next few months”.

The firm operates four sectors groups, an approach introduced just over a year ago (14 May 2010). They cover digital business, financial services, real estate and infrastructure and energy and natural resources.
