Norton Rose has continued its Asian expansion with the hire of Clifford Chance consultant Charlotte Robins as a partner in its Hong Kong corporate team.
The latest hire comes after the firm set up a specialist IP group for Asia with the recruitment of DLA Piper partners Gigi Cheah and Justin Davidson.
The firm has targeted Asia as a key area of expansion following its tie-up with Australian firm Deacons, creating Norton Rose Australia, at the start of the year. Partner headcount across Norton Rose’s Asian network now stands at 51, spread across 13 offices.
Asia chief David Stannard said: “Norton Rose Hong Kong has experienced substantial growth in the past year. Charlotte’s specialist experience in the financial services regulatory area will be especially valuable in strengthening our corporate practice, and allows us to extend a fuller legal services offering to our clients across the region.
“Charlotte’s appointment also builds upon the strength of our financial services practice in London.”
Robins added: “I’m very excited to be joining the Norton Rose team in Hong Kong. I was impressed by the quality of clients and the outstanding reputation of the team internationally.”
