Nabarro real estate partner quits for Norton Rose

Another Nabarro real estate partner has left the firm, with Neil Biswas resigning to join Norton Rose.

Biswas, who acts for a number of institutional property clients including Land Securities and Segro, joins the firm on 16 January.

His departure follows real estate partner James Trundle’s exit for Stephenson Harwood, which emerged this week (4 January 2012).

It is understood that a further real estate partner, one property finance partner and a planning partner have also left the firm, with the former thought to be launching a new legal enterprise in London.

Biswas is heading in the same direction as real estate finance partner Duncan Hubbard, who joined Norton Rose from Nabarro in February 2011.

Both Hubbard and Biswas were key partners for Nabarro’s established relationship with Land Securities, but it is understood that Norton Rose has only won small amounts of work from the client since Hubbard’s move.

Norton Rose European real estate head Lindsay Morgan said: “We’re seeking to grow the team on the transactional side,” adding that Biswas had skills that complemented the 10-partner core real estate team.

The hire follows the resignation of senior litigator and former global disputes head Antony Dutton, who is set to join Dechert as part of the US firm’s continued London push (5 January 2012).
