Mourant Ozannes has turned to Serle Court Chambers for a lawyer to lead a new foray into international private client work.
Serle Court junior Douglas Close is joining the offshore firm’s London office at the end of August to head the firm’s international private client practice, which will encompass contentious and non-contentious trust and private client work.
Close, who has ceased practising as a barrister and will become a consultant at Mourant Ozannes, will lead the firm’s private client team globally.
He said it was “time for a complete change” from the bar and was looking forward to the different challenges brought by his new role.
Mourant Ozannes currently has a team of lawyers practising trusts law in all three of the jurisdictions in which it has offices: Guernsey, Jersey and the Cayman Islands.
