Nordic firm Magnusson has opened a base in the Swedish city of Malmö, meaning the firm now has eight offices in total.
Partner Peter Friis has joined Magnusson from Swedish firm Ramberg Advokater, where he was also a partner, to head the new office.
Friis will be joined by Jonas Holmstedt, a corporate lawyer who was previously an associate at Vinge. Holmstedt becomes a partner at Magnusson.
Private client specialist Tove Sjövall, who joned Magnusson as a partner from her own firm in September last year, is relocating from Copenhagen to Malmö.
Senior partner Per Magnusson said the firm had ambitions to become a “pan-regional powerhouse” across the Nordic and Baltic region.
The Malmö office will offer corporate, litigation, real estate and private client services.
The office launch comes just under a year after Magnusson expanded into Finland by hiring six partners from local firms (16 February 2011).
Magnusson also has offices in Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Minsk, Moscow, Stockholm and Warsaw.
