Lovells shake-up confirms Gamble as London chief

Lovells has appointed international banking head Andrew Gamble to the London regional managing partner role as part of a management shake-up instigated by managing partner David Harris.

As revealed by The Lawyer (23 February) Harris wanted to overhaul the firm’s management to create an international group focused specifically on driving financial performance. Former London head Ruth Grant, who is now people development partner, sits on the_new_group alongside Harris, finance director Richard Olver and the firm’s four regional managing partners.

In addition to voting for Gamble as London head, the firm’s partnership has re-elected Patrick Sherrington as dispute resolution head and Andreas von Falck as head of commerce and real estate.

In line with Harris’s management changes, all three will serve a term of three years. Until now the terms for these positions have been open ended.

Harris said the changes had been made to bring a more streamlined and international approach to the way the firm is managed.

He added: “The dispute resolution and commerce and real estate practices have grown significantly under Patrick and Andreas and their reappointments give us the benefit of continuity of management in these areas during a period of market change.”

On Gamble, Harris said: “His experience as head of the international banking practice will lend itself well to the [London regional managing partner] position, which has a strong focus on financial performance management and cross-selling.”
