IP specialist Rouse has appointed a new head of its UK operations, with Luke Minford moving into the role after six years heading the firm’s office in China.
He has been replaced in the China head role by Linda Chang.
“Many of my peers in China have questioned why I’d move to the UK when it’s all happening here in China,” said Minford. “I firmly believe that the UK has an opportunity to once again lead IP strategy and service around the world.
“The key is in building the right connections between the UK and the rest of the world, especially China, and that’s where I think I can make a difference.”
Minford will be looking to strengthen the firm’s roster of UK clients, which currently includes BP, Diageo, Nokia, Orange, Shell and Sony Ericsson.
Rouse chief executive Rupert Moss-Macdonald added: “His [Mindford’s] professional ability and personal qualities will stand him in good stead to keep our UK business at the leading edge through the bracing period of change we’re seeing in the IP legal services market.”
