Hunton loses two more London partners as Chadbourne swoops

Chadbourne & Parke has boosted its corporate and energy practices in London with hires from Hunton & Williams and Clifford Chance.

Martin Thomas and Dearbhla Quigley, both corporate partners at Hunton & Williams’ London office, will join Chadbourne & Parke as partners, bringing with them two associates. Magnus Rodrigues, a counsel in Clifford Chance’s energy and infrastructure group in Singapore, will join the firm as an international partner.

The lawyers will join Chadbourne’s London office on 1 June.

Thomas and Quigley are both transactions lawyers while Rodrigues has experience advising sponsors, lenders and other parties on energy and infrastructure projects.

“Numerous English and foreign companies doing business in emerging markets have taken advantage of Martin and Dearbhla’s experience in connection with IPOs and other equity capital markets transactions,” said Chadbourne London managing partner Claude Serfilippi.

“Given Chadbourne’s strong presence in many of the world’s largest emerging markets, we believe this will give Chadbourne a competitive advantage in securing equity capital mandates from emerging market issuers as the global equity market starts to recover.”
