Hip hop to Trott

“It’s the bow to the wow, creepin and crawlin / Yiggy yes y’allin, Bates Wells a-callin”

Strain your ears just enough and you might just hear Bates Wells & Braithwaite’s hip hop specialist Philip Trott – aka Trott-ski, aka Ice Fee – humming that celebratory refrain this afternoon.

P-Trott is no doubt kicking back with some Cristal and some Henny, maybe even cruising round the L-B-C in his new ’lac, after winning his client Snoop Dogg the right to re-apply for an entry visa to the UK.

Hot2Trott has got some previous in this department, having acted for P Diddy, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes over their various immigration beefs.

And this looks to be just the start of what The Lawyer understands is a string of law firm/rapper tie-ups in the offing. DLA Soul, Freshfields Prince, Notorious BLG, The Sugarhill Dickinson Gang, 2Birdz and RunDAC are all mixing litigation with syncopation. Or ought to be.

After all, just like Snoop, haven’t they all got their minds on their money and their money on their minds?
