Herbert Smith has ended its salary freeze, increasing pay for newly-qualified (NQ) lawyers and at various levels of post qualification experience (PQE)
NQs at the firm will now receive £61,500, up £500 on 2011. Meanwhile pay for one year and four year PQE lawyers rose £500, to £68,500 and £94,000, respectively. Those at two-year PQE will see salaries rise £2,000, to £75,000. Pay for three-year PQEs has risen £1,000, to £86,000.
Herbert Smith froze its salary bands in 2011, though associates still progressed through the existing bands (27 May 2012).
Associates will continue to roll through the bands this year, with salary increases effective from 1 June 2012.
