Hammonds’ former London chief joins Howard Kennedy

West End firm Howard Kennedy has hired the former head of Hammonds’ London office Paul Groobey.

He joins as a partner in the firm’s property practice. Groobey was Hammonds’ London head between 2005-06, and was also head of the firm’s built environment group between 2006-07.

Groobey, who joined Hammonds from Addleshaw Goddard in 2002, specialises in purchasing and leasing, acquisitions and disposal and management.

Howard Kennedy senior partner Trevor Newey said: “Paul’s extensive experience advising across all facets of the property industry makes him a very valuable asset to the team and further strengthens our highly regarded department.”

Groobey added: “The Howard Kennedy property department has an excellent reputation and is an ideal fit for me in terms of client profile and areas of work covered.”

In March Hammonds bolstered its built environment practice with the arrival of partners Oliver Goodwin from Mischon de Reya, Patrick Ryan form SJ Berwin and Simon Taylor from Eversheds.
