Eversheds has confirmed that 75 support staff jobs will be cut as a result of its outsourcing deal with Accenture.
In August 2010 Eversheds announced that 100 jobs would be put at risk as a result of a seven-year agreement with Accenture to offshore human resources, administration, and finance roles (12 August 2010).
Most of the redundancies are in Birmingham, with 10 HR and 20 financial services staff being laid off. In Leeds, 15 jobs in the financial services support team were cut, while in Cardiff there were 20 redundancies in financial services.
The firm has paid double the statutory minimum to all those who have been laid off.
Managing partner Lee Ranson stated in August 2010 that the bulk of the redundancies would be in the firm’s regional offices since that is where most of the back-office functions are located.
As part of the deal with Accenture, around 350 financial support roles at Eversheds have been outsourced to Bangalore. Accenture is also developing a common IT platform for all Eversheds’ international offices.
