DWF picks College of Law as exclusive LPC provider

North-west firm DWF has picked the College of Law to be the firm’s exclusive provider of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) from September 2011.
DWF’s trainees will be given the flexibility to choose to study stage one of the LPC at any of its eight centres nationwide, whilst for stage two, they will gather together to study Commercial Law and Insurance Law at COL’s Manchester centre in a firm-specific group.
David Blaquiere, partner and training principal at DWF, said: “The DWF course that we’ve agreed with the College offers our trainees valuable opportunities to spend time together prior to the start of their training contracts, as well as meet and  work with DWF lawyers as part of their LPC studies.

“We see that as a major advance in producing a cohesive and integrated group of trainees who will work together to drive forward the growth of the business in a values based environment in the years to come.”
Tricia Chatterton, business development director for The College of Law, added: “The College has worked closely with the firm for many years and we are delighted to be developing that relationship still further.
DWF recruits around 21 trainees per year and this year maintained a 100 per cent retention rate offering all 16 of its qualifying trainee solicitors NQ positions at the firm – a massive jump from last year’s figure of 89 per cent (see story, 16 August )
