Dis-united nations at CC?

The summer might be over but things are beginning to heat up at the Wharf as the CC senior partner race kicks off in earnest (see story).

In the black, red and gold corner we have Daniela Weber-Rey, a stalwart of the Frankfurt corporate practice and, in case you hadn’t noticed, a woman.

Fighting out of the red, white and blue corner come the dynamic duo of London tax partner Jonathan Elman and London finance partner Malcolm Sweeting, who are strangely coy about their vision for the global firm.

One man who doesn’t share the London boys’ new-found modesty is Paris chief Yves Wehrli, who has ended speculation that we could be in for an unprecedented tri-nation bun fight by ruling himself out of the race.

“I prefer management,” said Yves. Would it be cheeky to suggest he’s gearing himself up for a run at David Childs’ job? Shame the big man is only a few months in to a four year term.
