Dewey & LeBoeuf’s Riyadh practice has joined Patton Boggs to set up a affiliate office for the US firm consisting of one partner and four associates.
Former Dewey Riyadh partner Khalid Al-Thebity has joined Patton Boggs as managing partner of the affiliate office, with the Washington DC-based firm also taking on Dewey Riyadh associates Jihad Turkistani, Stefan Guttensohn, Siraj Al Islam and Judeh Bahnan.
Al-Thebity’s practice spans corporate, commercial, finance, real estate and Saudi-related litigation and arbitration, with the Government of Saudi Arabia constituting one of his major clients.
The firm has also taken on Washington DC counsel David Colson and Brian Vohrer and New York international energy policy adviser Tess Serranti.
Al-Thebity said in a statement: “There’s no better firm for navigating the intersection of government, policy and business, and our practice areas are complementary.”
