Dewey ramps up Moscow with dual partner hire

Dewey & LeBoeuf’s Moscow office has poached two partners from international rivals in Moscow, giving the firm a boost in banking and real estate.

Dmitry Gubarev, a partner at Chadbourne & Parke, joins the firm on 1 July. He advises on banking and finance, capital markets transactions and structured, project and trade finance deals.

Dmitry Kunitsa, before joining Dewey, was head of the European real estate group at Squire Sanders & Dempsey. He specialises in advising investors on cross-border transactions for the acquisition of real-estate in Russia and the CIS.

Dewey’s Moscow managing partner Brian Zimbler said: “These two lateral additions are very exciting, providing additional strength in the related fields of finance and real estate. We expect both sectors to be very active as Russia emerges from the global credit crunch.

“Dmitry Gubarev is a leading Russian finance specialist with broad experience and a strong reputation. Dmitry Kunitsa is a seasoned Russian real estate law expert. Both have substantial client followings and are an excellent fit with our existing Moscow team of about 40 lawyers and paralegals.”
