The partners at Beachcroft and Davies Arnold Cooper (DAC) have voted in favour of the proposed merger between the two firms.
The deal was first revealed by The Lawyer last month (22 June 2011).
The combined firm will be known as DAC Beachcroft and will launch on 1 November this year with some 230 partners, 2,000 staff and an amalgamated turnover of £175m.
Beachcroft managing partner Paul Murray said in a statement: “We’re very pleased to be creating a firm with such strength across its core markets. The combined firm will provide insurance clients with a distinctive, full-service offering in the UK and internationally.
“In addition, Beachcroft’s market-leading health practice will be well complemented by Davies Arnold Cooper’s strong presence in the life sciences sector.”
DAC senior partner Danny Gowan said: “The merger brings together complementary strengths in both our teams and the business processes that underpin how we work with clients. In addition to the benefits it provides to our insurance clients, it doubles the size of each firm’s existing real estate practice.
“I’m particularly encouraged that both firms have similar cultures which will help ensure a successful merger.”
