Clifford Chance has reshuffled its partnership council, with Dubai banking partner Robin Abraham and Italian banking partner Giuseppe De Palma winning new places.
The duo replace New York partner Thomas Schulte and Amsterdam partner Jeroen Koster on the council, although Schulte will continue to chair the firm’s audit committee.
Abraham transferred to the Dubai office from London in 2004, while former Rome managing partner Giuseppe De Palma is based in the Milan and Rome offices as Italian head of banking and project finance.
The partnership council now comprises council chair and senior partner Malcolm Sweeting, London insurance partner Katherine Coates, London litigation partner Simon Davis, Hong Kong disputes partner Martin Rogers and Frankfurt corporate partner Daniela Weber-Rey.
The changes come into effect on 19 March, with the next reshuffle due in a year’s time.
Coates, Davis, Rogers and Weber-Rey were all appointed two years ago to the slimmed-down partnership council (23 March 2010). It was reduced from 12 members to seven as part of a shake-up (21 January 2010).
Sweeting said in a statement: “I’d like to thank Tom and Jeroen personally, and on behalf of the partners, for all their hard work for the council and their important and valuable contribution.
“I look forward to welcoming Robin and Giuseppe onto the council where they will bring their experience, insight and wisdom to the role of the council.”
