Clarke Willmott and Davenport Lyons advised on the high-profile dispute between the BBC and Top Gear driver the Stig.
Clarke Willmott solicitor advocate Owen Williams represented former Formula Three driver and stuntman Ben Collins, who has been revealed as the Top Gear mystery driver. Davenport Lyons partner Robin Shaw acted for publisher HarperCollins, assisted by Zoe Norden.
Williams and Shaw jointly instructed Hugh Tomlinson QC and Laura Prince of Matrix Chambers.
The dispute centred around the BBC’s bid to prevent HarperCollins from publishing Collins’ autobiography, claiming the book would breach confidentiality agreements.
At a high court hearing yesterday, Mr Justice Morgan ruled against granting an injunction preventing publication of the autobiography, which is due out later this month.
The BBC was represented at the hearing by in-house lawyers Alexis Hawkes and Nicola Cain. They instructed Richard Spearman QC of 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square.
