Burges Salmon has hired Taylor Wessing’s head of restructuring and corporate recovery Patrick Cook as a partner in its corporate turnaround and insolvency team.
Prior to joining the City firm, Cook established Osborne Clarke’s insolvency practice before going on to lead the Bristol firm’s London restructuring and insolvency team.
Cook will join Burges Salmon at the start of September, working with a multi-disciplinary team led by David Hall and featuring four partners.
Hall said: “Patrick’s extensive experience complements and strengthens our current team and I’ve no doubt that his joining us will further improve the service we can offer to our clients in this important sector. His established relationships in London, Bristol and the national market bring significant development potential to the practice.”
Cook added: “The combination of the existing high quality team already doing great work in this area, coupled with the Burges Salmon name, gives us the opportunity to build something quite special in the restructuring and insolvency market in the current economic climate.”
The move leaves Nick Moser as head of Taylor Wessing’s 22-partner restructuring and corporate recovery practice.
He commented: “We wish Patrick all the best for his move to Bristol and thank him for his contributions during his time here at Taylor Wessing.”
