BLP promotes 11 partners across City, Abu Dhabi and Singapore

Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has made up 11 lawyers to its partnership, a small drop on last year’s 13-strong promotions round.

The City firm has announced nine new partners in London in addition to one in Abu Dhabi and one in Singapore.

Last year it also promoted nine in the City but added a further three new partners in Moscow and one in Singapore (5 April 2011).

This year’s promotion count shows further fluctuation in the firm’s promotion patterns, with eight made up in 2010 (20 April 2010) and seven in 2009 (21 April 2009).

Litigation and dispute resolution is the practice group with the most promotions this year, with four stepping up to the partnership on 1 May.

Three are to be made up in real estate, two in finance, and one in corporate. In addition, Nicole Bigby, a qualified lawyer who holds the position of head of risk, becomes a non-fee-earning partner.

At the same time, BLP has also added risk and compliance lawyer Anne Avery, real estate associate Kellie Hatton, disputes associate Sharon Kennedy and finance associates Georgia Snaith and Angelina Soon to the position of associate director.

Managing partner Neville Eisenberg commented: “These promotions recognise the excellence and quality of our lawyers and are consistent with our commitment to provide our talented lawyers with great career opportunities, even during tougher economic circumstances.”
