Nigel Dolman has joined Bakers as a senior economist. At E&Y Dolman led the development of the accountancy giant’s transfer pricing team’s offering for intangible assets.

Bakers’ UK head of transfer pricing Richard Fletcher said Dolman’s arrival increases the firm’s finance and economics capabilities within its global transfer pricing practice to more than 40 professionals.

“His appointment further strengthens our capabilities in providing combined legal, tax and advisory services in the intellectual and intangible property area,’” Fletcher added.

Transfer pricing is becoming an increasingly significant area for a growing number of law firms. Last month The Lawyer reported that Allen & Overy was actively seeking non-lawyer transfer pricing specialists to augment the services provided by its tax departments (14 September 2009).

The news followed the hire of former Grant Thornton partner Danny Beeton by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in June.
