Ashurst has appointed two new Milan heads in the wake of a four partner departure from the office.
Partners Franco Vigliano and Mark Sperotto have been appointed Milan office head and Milan managing partner respectively.
The move follows Ashurst’s Milan head and corporate partner Daniele Raynaud leaving the firm along with corporate partner Stefano Roncoroni.
Milan managing partner Riccardo Agnostinelli and finance partner Lorenzo Vernetti have also left the firm.
It is not yet clear which firms the partners will be joining.
A statement issued by the firm said: “We’re very grateful to both for the work they’ve done in establishing the Milan office and we wish them every success in the future.
“Milan is an important part of the firm to which we’re fully committed. Riccardo and Daniele’s departure is amicable, and these changes create good opportunities to grow our finance and corporate business in Italy.”
Ashurst’s Milan practice has seen a number of departures in recent months. Banking partner Maura Magiconcalda left with a team of four associates to launch a banking practice at local firm Perdosoli earlier this year.
Ashurst’s statement said: “We ‘re fortunate in having an extremely strong group of continuing partners.
“Our projects business, led by Franco Vigliano, continues to perform exceptionally well. The team’s been involved in most of the major project financings undertaken in the Italian market in the last decade.”
