America’s Foley Hoag launches in Paris with team from Winston

Boston firm Foley Hoag has opened its first overseas office with the hire of Winston & Strawn duo Bruno Leurent and Thomas Bevilacqua in Paris.

Foley Hoag is the third North American firm to open in Paris this year, following McDermott Will & Emery and Canada’s Heenan Blaikie.

Leurent and Bevilacqua are both litigators and arbitrators and their hires extend Foley Hoag’s litigation practice to a key centre for international arbitration.

The pair will work with clients in France and across Europe, the Middle East and Francophone Africa.

Litigation team co-head Ronald Goodman said Foley Hoag had worked with Bevilacqua and Leurent previously. “Their arrival will add strength to our deep bench of talent and provide clients in Europe and elsewhere with access to a complete range of litigation and arbitration services.”

A spokesperson for Foley Hoag said one associate was joining from Winston & Strawn and others would be recruited to join the new office in the future.
