Travers Smith has retained 94 per cent of its qualifying trainees this September.

In a result that exactly matches the firm’s result for autumn 2015, Travers took on 17 of its 18 final-seat trainees in newly-qualified roles.

It adds to the three out of three trainees retained in the spring, giving the firm total retention of 95 per cent for the 2016 calendar year.

Six of the autumn qualifiers went into the firm’s private equity group, two into commercial and two into dispute resolution. The remaining seven joined finance; real estate; pensions; tax; corporate finance; funds; and financial services & markets.

The firm boosted its salary for NQs to £71,500 in the summer.
