Mishcon de Reya has hired DAC Beachcroft head of planning Anita Rivera to lead its planning team, becoming the firm’s eighth partner hire this year.

Rivera joined DAC just over a year ago in July 2014 from Reynolds Porter Chamberlain.

She takes over from real estate associate Daniel Farrand who had been leading Mishcon’s planning and environment group on an informal basis and will continue to head up the environment practice. The appointment takes effect from 5 October.

Mishcon real estate head Nick Doffman said: “Anita’s broad experience in planning will complement our existing offering. The department continued to deliver a full service offering for our wide range of clients, spanning both the public and private sectors.”

Mishcon has made seven other lateral partner hires this year. They are: Richard Leedham, who was head of insurance litigation at Addleshaw Goddard; Peter Steen from Farrer & Co; corporate partner Michael Nouril from Proskauer Rose; Sharon Tan from McDermott Will & Emery; Annabel Thomas from Enyo Law; Ray Black from King Wood & Mallesons; and Bridget Wood from Blake Morgan.

Mishcon’s revenue surpassed the £100m revenue mark for the first time this year, rising 12.5 per cent to £110m. Average profit per equity partner (PEP) is understood to be in excess of £950,000.
