German firm Luther has announced a 6 per cent rise in global turnover, from €114m to €121m (£90m) in the last financial year.

The firm produced the same growth in Germany and from its overseas offices. In Germany the firm brought in €107.6m last year, up from €101.5m in 2013/14.

The results continue a strong run of financial health for the firm, which recorded growth of 12 per cent between 2012/13 and 2013/14 and 8 per cent between 2011/12 and 2012/13.

German headcount rose 3.4 per cent last year, from 294 lawyers and tax advisers in 2013/14 to 304 last year. That put average revenue per lawyer at €354,000, up 2.6 per cent from €345,000 the previous year.

The firm also had 70 lawyers internationally, a number which was roughly static on the previous year.

The firm’s partner headcount rose 16.4 per cent, from 61 to 71.

Co-managing partner Markus Sengpiel attributed the firm’s success to its staff and said profitability had also increased.

His colleague Elisabeth Lepique added that the firm was picking up increasing amounts of work from major German corporations. Luther is currently advising E.ON on energy issues, ThyssenKrupp on IT law and Amazon on matters of employment and distribution law.
