As the built environment becomes more densely populated, with developers maximising site value by building up to their boundaries, it is little wonder that the neighbourly effects including environmental, planning and legal issues become increasingly important.

Developers should be fully aware of these neighbourly issues and risks; otherwise they could be faced with delays, increased costs and potentially an injunction halting the works and/or potentially requiring parts of their development to be demolished or cut back, all of which could seriously affect the viability of their scheme.
