Middle East firm Al Tamimi & Company has launched its thirteenth office, opening in Oman with the hire of a Dentons lawyer.
The firm is establishing itself in the capital Muscat. The office will be led by Ahmed Saleh, who was previously an associate at Dentons and legacy firm SNR Denton in Oman.
Saleh’s experience includes representing the Omani government on issues including the recent free trade agreement between Oman and the US, as well as acting for corporates on a variety of contentious and non-contentious issues.
Al Tamimi managing partner Husam Hourani said the move was in response to a boom in foreign direct investment into Oman, fuelled by the country’s entry into the World Trade Organisation in 2000 and the development of the economy and industry in towns outside Muscat.
“We recognize the impressive and fast-paced development taking place in Oman and will now look forward to taking a strong part in this,” added Hourani.
The Oman launch follows Al Tamimi’s recent move into the Iraqi Kurdistan city of Erbil (9 October 2013).
