White & Case has hired Macfarlanes competition head Marc Israel as its hiring spree in London continues.
Israel trained at Slaughter and May and joined Macfarlanes in 2001. He made partner three years later, taking over the helm of the competition group and leading Macfarlanes’ cross-departmental competition litigation practice.
Israel is the second practice head to exit Macfarlanes in two months following financial services head David Berman’s departure to Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan at the end of September.
Meanwhile White & Case has been recruiting heavily in the City this year hiring a number of heavy-hitters. New hires include Clifford Chance corporate partner Patrick Sarch and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer banking partner Jeffrey Rubinoff.
