The federal government has released a discussion paper seeking feedback on measures to improve super fund governance, finish outstanding Stronger Super transparency measures and enhance competition in the default super market.
While the discussion paper contains no recommendations, it gives a strong indication of the government’s broad direction on, for example, the questions of independent directors, choice product dashboards and portfolio holdings disclosure.
The closing date for submissions is 12 February 2014, giving the industry sufficient time to prepare meaningful submissions. However, it leaves the commencement date open for any potential changes…
