Dentons has boosted its Middle East practice with the hire of two lawyers from DLA Piper and Norton Rose Fulbright to its Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices.
The firm has seen notable movement in its Middle East region in recent months, losing its former Middle East dispute resolution head Peter Risbridger to Simmons & Simmons in November (7 November 2013) and nuclear energy partner Rupert Cowen in the same week for an unknown destination (8 November 2013).
The now tripartite firm is aiming to grow its UKMEA banking and finance practice, hiring former Herbert Smith Freehills senior associate Qasim Aslam last summer, now the head of Islamic finance in the region.
It has been adding lateral hires to its transactional teams throughout the year, taking on Sylvain Dhennin in March as a London banking and finance partner and hiring former Hogan Lovells finance partner Samantha Hutchinson in February.
The firm is expected to announce the outcome of a vote on its potential merger with US firm McKenna Long & Aldridge imminently (30 October 2013).
