Catherine Brown practises across the entire spectrum of personal injury work, including clinical negligence, public and employers’ liability and road traffic litigation, and is on the list of Crown Counsel (Provincial Panel).
Brown enjoys a busy industrial disease practice based primarily around asbestos-related and other lung diseases, industrial deafness and HAVS, as well as upper-limb disorders, asthma and dermatitis. She has experience of cross-examining experts in contested industrial disease trials and acting in trials of preliminary issues including limitation.
Brown has been instructed by the Crown in concluded group litigation arising out of coal mining and is presently second junior counsel in the ongoing group litigation regarding osteoarthritis of the knee in miners.
