Nabarro set to open Manchester office following hires of three real-estate partners

Nabarro has announced that it will open a Manchester office following the lateral hires of three real-estate partners: Mark Haywood, Nathan Jansen and Monica Brij.

The firm says that it sees both the hires and office opening as strategic decisions to support clients in one of the most vibrant cities for commercial real estate outside London.

All three lateral hires come from Addleshaw Goddard, where Haywood was head of real estate.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the real-estate sector, having qualified in 1991 working for both Nabarro and Olswang before joining Addleshaw Goddard. Legal directories praise him for his ‘succinct legal advice and unquestionable knowledge’ and describe him as ‘as good as it gets’.

In addition to leading a real-estate practice, he has also continued to act on significant deals for high-profile clients including the recent £800m NOMA JV between the Co-op, on which he advised longstanding Nabarro client Hermes Real Estate.

Jansen qualified in 1998 and has a wide range of commercial property experience, particularly in relation to major retail, industrial and mixed-use acquisitions and developments. Legal directories record that he is ‘as good as anything out there in commercial property’. He is also experienced at advising major funds on property investment and management assets.

Brij is a well-known, respected practitioner in the Manchester commercial property market. She is particularly well known for her development work and landmark city centre sales, leasebacks and acquisitions. She qualified in 1999 and spent four years at Linklaters, joining Addleshaw Goddard in 2007.
