DLA Piper is among most active law firms in IP litigation, according to Lex Machina report

DLA Piper has been recognised as one of the most active law firms in patent disputes, according to the 2013 Patent Litigation Year in Review published by analytics firm Lex Machina.

DLA Piper was ranked second among all US law firms for total patent cases filed 2009–13 and third for open patent cases in 2013.

This is the latest report in which the firm has been highly ranked in intellectual property (IP) litigation, having also been listed among the top law firms retained as courtroom counsel by the top 100 companies in the US (Corporate Counsel 2012:Litigation Kings’).

Lex Machina’s report draws from its own legal analytics data covering US district courts and judges, law firms, parties, patents, cases, merits decisions, damages awards, International Trade Commission investigations and administrative law judges.
